I'm Joe Hoy and I'm running for re-election as Washburn County Supervisor for District 14.

 

I'm running to preserve and protect Long Lake and the natural resources of Washburn County while helping property owners and residents access county government services. I have been honored to represent District 14 for the past four years. I've learned a lot, and I hope to continue putting that knowledge to use. The election is Tuesday, April 7, 2026 and I hope I can earn your vote.

I have been visiting Long Lake for 38 years since I married into a 5th-generation Long Lake family. My wife Janice Hovey and I have built our dream home on Long Lake and can now enjoy the woods and waters year-round. I'm also a computer animation teacher at Columbia College Chicago, on-air host at WOJB 88.9FM Friday mornings 10am - noon, and (semi-retired) software developer.

District 14

District 14 has been redrawn effective 2022. It now includes part of Sarona west of 53, but no longer includes homes north of The Narrows on Long Lake.
